My Cultural Bag
Jake R.
Axel our dog. He symbolizes how much we love animals. We have had Axel for about a year and I always like coming home and being smothered by ecstatic kisses and seeing him. Axel was a stray dog in Missouri and was taken here to become a service dog. We were fostering him and I came up with his name and mostly trained him. Then when our fostering time was up, we took him to see if he could become a service dog. Later we found out he had a blind spot in his left eye so we got to keep him. This is why Axel is in my cultural bag.
The pencil and paper symbolizes my families love for art. We have always been amazing at drawing and love to do it. I always draw with them and make up games. I have specialized in drawing planes, people, sports, and vehicles. This is why drawing is in my cultural bag
The airplane symbolizes my families love for traveling to different places. We have always been travelers because we love to sightsee. I have been all over the globe and normally every summer we go on a trip. I have been to Hawaii 4 times and will go every other summer for the rest of my life. I have also been to Germany and Paris. I plan to go there next year. This is why traveling is in my cultural bag.
The Hanukkah menorah symbolizes our religion. A menorah is a big candleholder with 8 holders. The ninth holder is the shamish candle and does not symbolize a night of Hanukkah. Every Hanukkah, we have a big party on the 8th night. All of our family is there and we all have a great time. This is why the menorah is in my bag
The Guitar symbolizes my families love for music. I always have loved to listen to music and play it along with my family. We all play different instruments like my mom plays lots like the clarinet and piano and flute. My dad and I both play the guitar, and my brother plays the piano. This is why music is in my cultural bag.
The trampoline symbolizes our love for the outdoors. We go on the tramp every day. I do tricks and play games. I have been in gymnastics for at least two years so I can do back flips and a lot of others, We also love to super bounce people and spray water on it too. My favorite game is called buddy ball. It’s where you have a ball and you through it at people and if they catch it you’re out but if they miss they are out. The people can get back in by tagging someone or getting the ball and hitting someone and they don’t catch it. The game is played until everyone is out and the one that is left has the ball. This is why I put out tramp in my cultural bag.
